FM 5 Closure

Mikus Road will be closed north of the westbound Interstate 20 service road beginning on Monday, Dec. 7 through Tuesday, Dec. 22 to repave the roadway and complete the eastbound to westbound turnaround lane. The frontage road will remain open during this closure.

Northbound traffic will be detoured on the eastbound service road to the Ranch House Road turnaround lane and onto the westbound service road. Northbound traffic will then take Crown Pointe Boulevard to Crown Road to Mikus Road. Southbound traffic will be detoured on Crown Road to Crown Pointe Boulevard, and then onto the westbound frontage road. The detour route will be marked and a map of the route is attached.

Weather permitting, traffic lanes and turnarounds at the I-20 and FM 5/Mikus Road interchange will be in their final configuration this winter with permanent traffic signals estimated for installation in the spring. TxDOT encourages attention to all warning signs as crews complete this work as quickly and safely as possible.
